Assesstment of the use of the electrocuagulation for the treatment of gray water. DRAIN2WC

The Water Research and Technological Developmentment Center (CITDA) of the University of Salamanca, has been working for the company INDEPRO Proyect Engineering, making an scientific assesstment of the use of electrocuagulation technique for the treatment of gray waters.

The main objetive of this studies, is the aplication of the DRAIN2WC prototype, for the reuse of grey waters. This protype has been developed by this company, co-financed with FEDER founds and the Instituto para la Competitividad Empresarial de Castilla y León. After the analisys of the main variables and the operational parameters of the process and the cost balance, the price of the process is 0.3 – 0.4 €/m3 of gray water.

The final results of this survey, is that the electrocuagulation is an efficient way to eliminate the turbidity of the organic matter in grey water (in 20 minutes the elimination process ends with the 97 % of the turbidity and the 85 % of organic matter).
